Tony Foster: Painting at the Edge

Kingdom) Traveling mostly on foot, by raft or canoe English artist Tony Foster paints landscapes in the remotest of areas to bring awareness to wilderness destruction and climate change. His adventures have resulted in 14 major exhibitions across five continents spanning over three decades. Commissioned in 2019 by the Whitney Western Museum, we follow him as he rafts, canoes, and paints landscapes of the entire length of the Green River.

🅿️ Parking
Not official — our suggestion: the free City lot at Sunset Center's North Lot, entered on 8th Ave between San Carlos & Mission (no time limit; about a 6-minute walk west on 8th to Monte Verde). Street parking around the theatre is free, but downtown blocks are posted 2-hour or 30-minute — read the sign. Vista Lobos (3rd Ave & Torres, free) is a backup, roughly 15–20 minutes on foot; no parking there 11:30pm–6am. The theatre has one accessible space out front on Monte Verde.
